I have 15 years experience as an English teacher and examiner, including 10 years with IELTS. I hold a CELTA teaching qualification and have a Banking Degree. I have taught in the Middle East and Spain. Before retraining to be a teacher, I was a bank manager for a large UK bank.

COMMUNICATION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN GRAMMAR I only teach young people and adults who are serious about learning and improving their English. In Oman I taught in a military college and in Spain I taught business English in banks and companies. The connection is that all of these students were very motivated because they needed English for their jobs. If you choose me as your tutor, you WILL have to work hard and do the homework I ask but I understand you have limited time so we will agree this together. Our lessons will concentrate on speaking and listening skills. Of course, I will explain grammar when required but I am more interested in helping you to become a confident speaker. Then the rest is much easier!
