I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Salamanca with a focus on English and German translation. The courses I studied at the university were related to studying the English and German languages; their grammar, semantics and phonetics and working with written texts, such as legal documents, literature, technical manuals or advertising material. I also had to deal with verbal and real-time translations. I obtained a Master’s Degree in Spanish from Illinois State with a concentration in Spanish Linguistics. During the master’s degree program, I was required to do coursework on the phonological, morphological, and syntactic structure of the Spanish language, as well as its history, sociolinguistics, and acquisition as a second language. I have 2 years of experience working as a Spanish instructor at Illinois State University and I also taught other languages in different places such as Salamanca (Spain) and in Hamburg (Germany) by teaching private lessons.

• Creating teaching lessons to facilitate a targeted, personalized approach to education while stimulating students’ enjoyment and appreciation for the Spanish language.
• Incorporating non-language components of the Hispanic culture into classroom lessons, including areas such as cooking, holidays, family traditions, and music.
