Diploma in Social studies and a Degree international Mgmt.

Hi all, my name is Hugh, and I come from Ireland. Currently, I am living with my family in Laos in Southeast Asia. I have a BA in International Management and also a Diploma in Social Studies. I hold several certificates at International and European levels in Coaching, Interview techniques, Email writing, Diversity, and Inclusion training, along with Leadership Skills, Team Building, Self-Improvement, Change Management, Delegation, etc. After college, I spent 5 years working as an Actor in the Theatrical World, travelling Europe performing Shakespeare and many modern-day classics. It was a wonderful time with many special memories. I last performed in 2017 back home in Ireland in a centenary production called An Easter Service with my state theatre company. During my travels, I have learned to speak German almost fluently which I still practice today. My interests are wide and varied and I must admit, I do love Football (Man Utd), music (I play an Irish drum called a Bodhran and the Ukulele), and volunteering and completing charity work. I moved to Laos in 2017 to enjoy a new lifestyle and have new experiences. In 2018 I completed the building of a small country school in a poor rural area called Ban Bouakham. I raised the money by eating a snake, a scorpion and I am very sad to say a rat :( But it was all worth it, and you can see this on the web under the hashtag ChildrenLaos. I feel it is very important to help those less fortunate in life, so I love to give back. I genuinely enjoy teaching and embrace the opportunity it gives me to help people of all ages achieve their goals and dreams in life through education. In Ireland, we say, As long as you are learning, you are winning. I first obtained my TEFL certification in 1990 and again renewed it online with a 120 hr TESOL TEFL accredited certificate in 2021. I worked with Vodafone during the switch from Analogue to Digital and on launching 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G mobile services. I also worked as a Compliance Officer for PayPal for 5 years. I have been working in Education both online and in the classroom for 4 years now. I have gained lots of experience which I am now happy to share with you. I do believe that my business, performing arts, and teaching background offer a unique, experienced, and knowledgeable tutor well equipped to support your language studies. I have a very broad base of experience and I consider myself to be a lifelong learner. Sometimes we need a teacher and sometimes we need an Educator. I believe that my life to date has given me the tools to cover both. I would describe my teaching style as Communicative, Informative, Open, Adaptive, Flexible, and Inclusive. Now I am here ready to help and ready to share, and I look forward to meeting you all soon.

Interests and activities Ban Bouakham: Private Volunteer Programme. I built a double classroom for 54 underprivileged children 80km from Savannakhet using funds donated through my #ChildrenLaos which can be viewed on Facebook. This has been a Labour of love & will be completed by end of May 2018. Castle Rovers FC: In 2000 a group of friends and I were coming to the end of our Football playing journeys. So as we wished to remain active in this area we decided to set up a club in a disadvantaged area of town. We touched based with the FAI (Football association of Ireland) and set about getting membership insurance and most importantly permission to use a public authority pitches for our games. We successfully met all the criteria requested by the FAI and had our first league game in the 2000/01 season. In the 2001/02 season we successfully gained promotion into the Dundalk & district junior league where we still play – I am proud to be founder member and Club Chairperson. We have turned around the lives of a number of young people from this area and have helped them grow self-esteem and find employment or re-enter education.
